"Refreshing Sicilian granita, a walkway lined with ornate roman mosaics and breathtaking beaches – we adored the Italian islands!"
Escape to Italy’s magical islands for unrivalled dramatic scenery. Explore the rugged Sardinian coastline and the atmospheric, cultural melting pot of Sicily. Ascend Sicily’s imposing Mount Etna by cable car and immerse yourself in a wonderfully unique lunar landscape. Be bold, get up close and walk to the crater. In Sardinia, discover the architectural wonders of Nuraghe La Prisgiona, featuring megalithic stone structures. Alternatively, delight in the rugged coastline of Elba, the island that famously harboured the exiled Napoleon. You never know what you might find!
Sardinia is one of the most beautiful islands in the world – truly unspoilt and a paradise for nature and sea lovers alike. Long white sand beaches and coves are met by clear, pristine waters. For the explorer amongst us - the island is covered by mountains, forests and fantastic hiking trails. Sardinia is also full of quaint villages, fantastic wines unique to the island, delicious food, and – more than anything else – welcoming people.
On our guided tour of Sardinia – we start the tour with a visit to one of the most exclusive coasts in the world - the Emerald Coast – so you can see for yourself why this glamorous destination is a magnet for the rich and famous.
In contrast, the island’s interior is rugged and rural, with 25% of it being environmentally preserved and many plants endemic to the island. Our travellers get a chance to enjoy the landscape and get an authentic glimpse of rural Sardinian life when they visit the rural village of Aggius and indulge in an array of local dishes over a leisurely farmhouse lunch.
With sailing trips around the island (passing the natural habitat of bottlenose dolphins), snorkelling, wine tasting and archaeological excursions all on offer – this is a destination packed full of unforgettable experiences.
A visit to Sicily is truly unforgettable. As Italy's largest island - with exceptional sandy beaches contrasting with dramatic rugged coastlines, delightful villages and towns, as well as an abundance of ancient ruins and archaeological sites - as cliched as it sounds, there really is something for everyone.
Throughout history, Sicily has been at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East and subsequently inherited cultures and cuisine from all three. The imprints left throughout the past centuries from all these diverse cultures has created Sicily’s unique identity, rich in history. There are over 24 archaeological sites. On our Best of Sicily tour - we’ll enjoy the landscape on our journey from the East to the West of the island. You can be amazed by the beauty of the mosaics of the Roman Villa del Casale – there’s the best views from the built raised walk trail! Then walk back another thousand years to the Greeks, in the Valley of the Temples. We’ll ascend the biggest and most famous volcano in Europe, Mount Etna with a panoramic cable car ride. You could even take an optional 4X4 adventure to the crater’s rim! Seeing the massive volcanic craters and the steaming ground up close is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
And naturally, as with all Travelsphere tours, our escorted Sicily tour is packed full of local cuisine - from street food in Palermo to granita tasting in Taormina. What's not to love?!

I booked the tour of Sicily trip as a birthday present for my wife. Booking the holiday was easy and efficiently managed. The lady who took my details was very helpful. The holiday itself was excellent. Our tour guide Ian was fantastic. He had the patience of a saint and the knowledge of a historian. All info was delivered in an interesting and amusing style, catering to a group of 40 travellers with varying needs easily. Our driver Salvatore was a considerate road user, manoeuvring the large but luxurious coach through stunning Sicilian towns and countryside. Our waiter, Luigi, was superb in assisting with birthday cake and champagne for us, with Ian’s help. The tour itself was fantastic. Taking in the picture perfect Taormina, the Greek palace mosaics, Palermo and Cefalu. We could (and probably should) have also attended optional trips to Etna and Agregento, but chose those days instead to laze about at either the beach or hotel pool. Travelsphere were excellent at organising this tour and at keeping us informed of the holiday details from the day I initially booked onwards. I’d definitely use Travelsphere again.

The holiday was a perfect introduction to Sicily, so good in fact that it has made us want to revisit. A lot of this was down to the professionalism of our Tour Manager, Roberto, who was attentive and informative... Congratulations and well done Travelsphere on creating a wonderful holiday experience.
